Life is a gift which becomes greater by sharing the fun and the love of it.
Duna is the name for the Danube in Hungarian. Throughout history and in different ancient cultures located around the Danube, this long river was seen as the Great Mother River, the artery of life, giving life to all beings.
In pre-historic times Duna was one of the many names for the Mother Earth Goddess, the creator and giver of all life.
In Celtic tradition there is a goddess called Danu and she is the goddess of the river and feminine powers.
In Spanish duna means dune, formed by the wind and sea, a formation of never ending transformation.
The many meanings and the sound of the word made me choose it as the name for this community.

About me
I am Anne-Marie Owen and I am on this magical journey called life, just like you.
On this journey I have travelled, worked, learned and played in and through a variety of studies, jobs and countries. The common denominator being wanting to bring out the best in myself and others and enjoy life. This I do by following my heart; surrendering to the flow of the Great River of life.
I am a mother of two beautiful children, a celebrant, a doula, a sister, a daughter and a friend. Since February 2018 I am a so-called Recognised Doula with Doula UK.
I had 12 years of Steiner education, have a master degree and have done an array of self development courses and voluntary work all over the world. I am still in touch with anthroposophy (Steiner) through my children and other family members who enjoy the philosophy through work or play.
On a daily basis I experience and work with modern Druidry. -Druidry is a vital and dynamic nature spirituality that is flourishing all over the world. It unites our love of the Earth with our love of creativity and the arts. Flowing through all the exciting new developments in modern Druidism is the power of an ancient tradition: The love of the Land, Sky and Sea - The love of the Earth, our home.-
I have created Duna to offer a space where people and their passions can come together and share about their journey in life and communicate the ups and downs they are experiencing with that. It sets out to be the warm arms and unconditional love of a mother, the strong yet playful support of the father, the devotion of grandparents and the passion of a lover.
Duna is a place of connection with ourselves, Mother Earth, the world and each other. Watching out for whatever is needed, whenever.
